🔑 Step 1: Obtaining the configuration file

Before you begin the installation, you will need a personalized configuration package (** .ovpn file**). This package is prepared for you by our IT team and already contains all the necessary settings.

How to request it?

  • Via Email: Write to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  • Via Ticket Portal: Open a new ticket on our IT Ticket Portal.

💻 Windows (Desktop and Laptop)

  • Download: Visit the official OpenVPN website and download the Windows installer (MSI installer).
  • Installation: Run the downloaded file and follow the instructions (using the standard "Next" buttons).
  • Configuration: * Locate the .ovpn file received from the IT team.
    • Copy it into the following folder: C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config.
  • Connection: * Launch the OpenVPN GUI application (a small padlock icon will appear in the system tray, next to the clock).
    • Right-click the icon and select Connect.
    • Enter your username and password when prompted. (For company employees, these are always the same as your standard computer login credentials.)

🍏 Apple macOS (Desktop and MacBook)

  • Application: Use OpenVPN Connect for macOS.
  • Installation: Download and install the application.
  • Importing: * Double-click the .ovpn configuration file received from IT.
    • The system will ask if you want to import the profile. Click OK.
  • Connection: Click the application icon in the top menu bar and select the profile name to connect.

📱 Mobile Devices (Android and iPhone/iPad)

The process is almost identical for both mobile platforms:

  • Downloading the App:
    • Android: Open the Google Play Store and install the OpenVPN Connect app.
    • iPhone/iPad: Open the App Store and install the OpenVPN Connect app.
  • Transferring the file: Email the received .ovpn file to yourself or upload it to a cloud storage service accessible from your phone.
  • Importing:
    • Open the email attachment or the file on your phone.
    • Select the "Open in OpenVPN" option.
    • Within the app, tap the ADD button.
  • Usage: Toggle the switch to start the connection. Once successfully connected, a small VPN icon will appear in the top status bar of your phone.

💡 Useful Tips

  • Saved Passwords: Upon the first connection, the system may ask if you want to save your password. While convenient on a personal device, do not do this on shared computers for security reasons. Furthermore, saved passwords can cause issues later when your password expires or is changed.
  • Connection Drops: If the VPN disconnects, check your internet connection, then try to reconnect by clicking the icon.
  • Support: If you receive an error message during installation, please send a screenshot along with a description of the error to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Important: After using the VPN connection, do not forget to Disconnect if you no longer need access to internal network resources!
